🏉 Who Can Play

Everyone is welcome at BMJRC — boys and girls of all ages, abilities, and experience levels.
Whether you’re new to rugby or a returning player, there’s a team and pathway for you!

We currently field teams in:

  • U5–U7: Tri-Tag Rugby (non-contact)

  • U8–U9: Modified tackling and smaller team formats

  • U10–U18: Graded competition through Sydney Junior Rugby Union (SJRU)

  • 7s Rugby (U10–U18): Post-season fast-paced summer competition (Oct–Nov)

📅 Season Overview

  • Winter Season (XVs): April – August

    • Training: 1–2 nights per week at Lapstone Oval

    • Games:

      • U6–U9 (Minis) – Saturdays 

      • U10–U18 (Juniors) – Sundays (SJRU Competition)

  • Summer Season (7s): October – November

    • A fun, social post-season competition for boys and girls

    • Great for keeping fit and building skills

👕 Uniforms & Player Kit

All registered players receive a full club kit as part of their registration fee.
Your 2025 player kit includes:

  • Club Jumper

This ensures every Blue Tongue proudly represents our club both on and off the field.

📍 Training & Home Ground

All training and home games are held at:
Lapstone Oval Explorers Road, Lapstone NSW 2773

Training sessions are run by qualified and accredited coaches, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and fun in a safe and inclusive environment.

⚕️ Safety & Wellbeing

Player safety is our top priority.

  • All coaches, managers, and volunteers hold Working With Children Checks.

  • BMJRC follows Rugby Australia’s Age-Grade Pathways and Code of Conduct.

  • Games and training sessions are modified for age and ability, ensuring a safe introduction to tackling and contact.

We also promote healthy habits, hydration, and positive sportsmanship across every age group.

🏆 Pathways & Development

BMJRC provides pathways for all players to grow and achieve:

  • Representative opportunities through Sydney Juniors and NSWJRU

  • Girls’ Rugby programs including Sera Naiqama Cup and 7s competitions

  • Coaching and leadership development for older players

We encourage every player to set goals, have fun, and play with pride in the Blue Tongues colours.
